Why Wind?
The first thing you have to decide when "going green" is which way to go. Some areas of the world are better than others at each type of "green" energy. In Oklahoma, and most of the southwest for that matter, we have an abundance of Wind.Other types of alternative energy sources like Solar and Hydro, are better suited for places that don't have as much wind, or have much more water than we do.
Wind power provides a very reliable, and very powerful energy source with very little initial cost. A solar power setup (photovoltaic array) that provides the same power output of a wind generator costs on average about 4 times as much! If you lived in a region of very low wind speed (eastern Missouri for instance), a solar array may be a better idea than wind, and might make more financial sense. Many factors go into choosing a particular "green" alternative energy, which is why you need to speak with people knowledgeable on the subject before making a decision.
The owner of Central Windpower has been in the world of weather for two decades, and knows firsthand the reasons that windpower is the correct choice for Caddo county, and most all of Oklahoma. If there is one constant in the plains of Oklahoma, it is wind.
Why Now?
The idea of using alternative energy is looking better now more than ever for the following reasons:
- Rising energy prices.
- Rising energy usage in many homes.
- State of world affairs, and where our nation buys its energy.
- Tax incentives. Up to 30% of the total installed price!
- The environment. The more you produce yourself, the better.
- The future. The more we do now, the better technology will be later.
Twenty years ago, alternative energy was just a dream. The technology required to make, operate, and maintain even the simplest of wind generators was for all intents and purposes, impossible. The initial investment required was almost never regained, which left many buyers felt disheartened and turned them away from alternatives all together. Their investments were not in vain however. Those pioneers paved the way for current technologies that bring economical, reliable, and most importantly inexpensive windpower to the average home.
Today, a wind generator is a simple appliance. You do not need to monitor, maintain, or worry with it. After installation, you simply watch it work, and watch your energy demands fall. At today's prices, our generators should be able to pay for themselves in as little as five to eight years, and then start producing absolutely free energy for your home.
Why Central Windpower?
We did not enter into alternative energy to sell it. We began by researching every available option, and then implementing it in our own backyards. After it was clear that we were heading in the right direction, we began recommending others to do the same. The only problem was, there was no one to do the installation in our area, and the rest is history.
We have always stood behind what we sell, but to a greater extent, we only sell what we would own ourselves. From appliances to wind generators, if it isn't good enough for us, it's not good enough for you. We want people to go into alternative energies with as much information as possible, so they can make informed decisions and not have regrets later.
If you have any questions, we will get you the answers. If you need parts, we will get them to you. If you need installation services, we will do it for you. But most importantly, we love to talk wind energy, and will do so until all of your questions are answered in full.
